2010  ROATx Activity List

 

   CLICK HERE to see the Early Childhood Vision Screening Schedule. Become a ROATx Certified Vision Screener of children under one year of age through under five years of age and help us eliminate childhood blindness in Texas. Together we can make a difference in the lives and futures of the children of Texas.  

    June 12th - This is a joint project, to benefit the Austin Musicians that are under insured and is a collaboration between ROATx and Texas Ophthalmological Association that provides eye health exams by Ophthalmologists and refractions by Refracting Opticians. We invite all Certified Opticians, Registered Opticians, and Refracting Opticians to VOLUNTEER to participate in refracting approximately 200 people in one day.     June 15th -  Early Registration for our "100 Hour Refraction and Advanced Ophthalmic Optics Course". CLICK HERE for more information on how you can become a certified Refracting Optician.

    June 26th - "2011 ROATx Education Seminar and Convention" committee meeting will be held at our association's training center in Austin. All members interested in helping plan and put together next years annual meeting are invited to participate.( Starts Sunday at 4 P.M. / 1308 W. Anderson Ln, Austin, Texas)

    July 10th - The Refracting Opticians from ROATx are invited for the eighth year in a row to teach Refraction and Advanced Ophthalmic Optics to the Ophthalmology Residents of the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas Texas. 

    July 11th -  5 Hour "Crash Course in Refraction" (5 advanced level ABO, 5 advanced level NCLE, or 5/Type-A JCAHPO continuing education available). The course cost is FREE for members of ROATx and $100 for non-members of ROATx and is being held at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas (Aston Building/Ophthalmology Department).     July 18th - "2011 ROATx Education Seminar and Convention" committee meeting will be held at our association's training center in Austin. All members interested in helping plan and put together next years annual meeting are invited to participate.( Starts Sunday at 4 P.M. / 1308 W. Anderson Ln, Austin, Texas)

We encourage all Texas Department of State Health Services voluntarily Licensed Opticians to print out and use the "Prescription Analysis Form" (see button at Home Page) when needed in your office. Please remove the name of the doctor's patient at the top of the form and fax it to our office at (512) 459-1560 for reporting purposes.
